Councillor booked
KOCHI:
A scuffle between a councillor and bakery owners in Kalamassery on Thursday resulted in three persons being hospitalised and the police filing a case against municipal councillor Sajid, son of Manakkatil Abubakar.
Abbas, Asainar and Yusuf, sons of Ummer of Nellikuzhi Veedu, Thrikkakara North, owners of the bakery, were admitted to a private hospital in Aluva with injuries. The fight erupted when the gutter in front of the bakery, near Premier Tyres, was being cleaned. When all the slabs covering the gutter near the bakery were removed for cleaning, the bakery owners asked the job to be done by removing half the slabs, so that the customers could approach the shop. However, the councillor who was getting the job done turned down this request. The ensuring verbal fight soon resulted in a physical assault.
