Water level

MADURAI : The water level in the Periyar dam stood at 127.60 feet with an inflow of 113 cusecs and a discharge of 600 cusecs.

The level in the Vaigai dam was 66.80 feet with an inflow of 356 cusecs and a discharge of 41 cusecs.

Residents block road

Over 100 residents of Poondi and Alagapuri near Oomachikulam blocked vehicular traffic on Alagarkoil Road for an hour on Thursday to highlight the lack of basic amenities in their villages. Police and revenue officials pacified the protestors and promised to look into their grievances.

Results published

The revaluation results of B.A.(November semester) examinations of Madurai Kamaraj University were published on February 15.

Students can access their results through the web site www.mkuniversity.org/revalue.asp-, a press release from S.Shanmugiah, Controller of Examinations, said.

The students can get the updated mark statements by surrendering the old marks statement along with the downloaded printout of revaluation result to the principals of respective colleges where they underwent their course.

Train service restored

The 383/384 Nagercoil-Coimbatore-Nagercoil passengers have been restored to run between Nagercoil and Coimbatore with immediate effect.

According to a Southern Railway press release, the trains will not be terminated at Karur as announced earlier.

Power shutdown

There will be no power supply between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday in the following areas served by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board's Anna Bus Stand sub-station:

Goripalayam, Government Rajaji Hospital, Panagal Road, Alwarpuram, Vaigai Vadakarai, Palam Station Road, Anna Bus Stand, Gandhi Nagar, Mathichiyam, Shenoy Nagar, Madurai Medical College, American College, Jumbropuram, Sellur, Kulamangalam Road, LIC Office, Aruldosspuram, Kalathupottal, Thathaneri, Kuruvikkaran Salai, Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Lakshmipuram, Narasimhapuram, Sourashtra Boys' School and Munichalai, according to a press release. — Staff Reporter.
