This Day That Age
The Navjivan Trust, which runs the Harijan weeklies founded by Gandhiji, has decided to close down all the three weeklies from next month, Mr. Jivanji Desai, Managing Trustee of the Trust, said in Ahmedabad on February 16. The Board of Trustees of the Navjivan Trust at their meeting in New Delhi on February 14 decided to discontinue publication of all the three Harijan weeklies on account of heavy losses. The three weeklies are: Harijan (English), Harijan Bandhu (Gujarati) and Harijan Sevak (Hindi). The Harijan was founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1933 after the British Government had banned the Navjivan and Young India journals.
