Venkateswara Sangeetha Kalyanotsavam begins today

Taallapaka Hari Narayanacharyulu, the 12th generation descendent of Sri Annamacharya would be honoured

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam branch of Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini, Hyderabad is all set to celebrate a two-day festival of Sri Venkateswara Sangeetha Kalyanotsavam on Saturday and Sunday in the city.

Utsav Committee Chairman Mattappalli Chalamayya, Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee A.S.N. Prasad, Co-ordinator A.P.S. Murthy and Central Committee member Dr. Nanda Kumar told reporters that the utsav would start with nagarasankeertana on Saturday morning.

The procession would be led by sankeerthana praveena Sobha Raju, the founder chairman of the Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini at Hyderabad. Students of the Visakha branch of Bhavana Vahini besides those from various schools in the city would participate in the nagara sankeerthana programme.

Annamacharya kirtans

Singing compositions of Annamacharya, the procession led by mangalavadyam and Vedamanthrochharana, the procession would start at 5.30 a.m. on Saturday from Sampat Vinayaka temple, and would proceed via Siripuram, AIR studios and would reach the Annamacharya mandapam on the beach road. Annamacharya Aaradhana sankeerthans would be sung by Dr. Sobha Raju along with all those who participate in the procession at Annamcharya mandapam from 6.30 a.m. onwards.

The Venkateswara sangeetha kalyanotsavam would be held at Gurazada Kalakshetram at Siripuram from 5.30 a.m. on Sunday where select compositions of the sankeerthanacharya which describe the various fascets of kalyanam of Swamivaru would be chiefly rendered by Dr. Sobha Raju.

Darshan timings

People can have the darshan of Sri Venkateswara from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Vedoktha puja in the midst of naadaswaram by Srimannarayana and party (AIR artiste) followed by rendering of Sri Vishnusahasranamam in group led by A.S.N. Sastry from Naval Dock Yard will follow.

At 6 p.m., people can have Viswaroopa darsanam. Taallapaka Hari Narayanacharyulu, the 12th generation descendent of Sri Annamacharya would be honoured at a meeting to be held at Gurazada Kalakshetram at 6.15 p.m. Dr. Sobha Raju and a few members of the Viskha Bhavana Vahini would render Anamacharya composition and the festival concludes at 8.30 p.m. with harathi and distribution of prasadam.

Dr. Sobha Raju said that she had taken up this project of Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini and the conduct of the Venkateswara Sangeetha Kalyanotsavam for the purpose of eradication of thought pollution through divine music especially in the children and the youth.
