Rupee drops further
MUMBAI:
Breaching the crucial 44.45-dollar barrier, the rupee tumbled to six-week closing low of 44.46/47 a dollar on Friday, driven-down by sustained hectic dollar demand.
In yet another session of nervous trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee declined by eleven and half paise from Thursday's finish of 44.3450/3550 after dipping to a low of 44.49/50 in the afternoon. Rupee opened weak at 44.39/41 a dollar. PTI
