Governor's address ignores welfare of poor, says Naidu

The TDP chief says he is happy that his party's contribution is paying dividends

HYDERABAD: Leader of Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu has decried the claims of the Government about development of the State and contended that it is reaping the fruits of his hard labour for nine long years.

In a scathing attack on the ruling party while speaking on the Governor's address on Friday, Mr. Naidu said investors were thronging the State because they were impressed by the great strides made in infrastructure by the Telugu Desam Party during his rule.

He did not rue being out of power, as he was happy that his Government's contribution was leading to increased flow of investments. He wondered whether the FAB city would have come to the State but for his foresight. He said the party that opposed the growth of information technology was now going all out to woo investors by showcasing the IT sector.

Accusing the Government of failure on law and order and allowing corruption in projects, Mr. Naidu wondered why the Government was not transparent in its actions.
