Bomb hoax stalls House proceedings

HYDERABAD : Proceedings in the Assembly were stalled for over 20 minutes on Friday following an anonymous call that a bomb was planted on the premises.

The call, however, turned out to be hoax after security personnel thoroughly checked the entire premises. It all started when Congress member G. Chinna Reddy was initiating a debate on the Governor's address. The Assembly Chief Marshal had a word with Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and panel Speaker V. Purushottam Reddy, who was in the chair. After the panel Speaker adjourned the House, security personnel inspected the press and visitors' galleries.
