NEW DELHI: To give a broader perspective to all emerging issues in the field of telecommunication, a major telecom exhibition -- Globalcomm India 2006 -- is being held here from this coming Monday. The three-day event at Pragati Maidan will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Planning M.V. Rajasekharan in the presence of the Deputy Secretary-General of International Telecommunication Union, Switzerland, Roberto Blois. The event will provide an opportunity to share, experience, explore and benefit from what the communication and information technology industry has to offer. Leading Indian telecom companies along with foreign firms will be taking part in the show. They include Reliance Infocomm, TATA Indicom, Lucent, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Ericsson, Sony India, Qualcomm Inc., Spectranet, Cisco Systems, Kyocera Wireless and France Telecom. The Globalcomm series of event in India has established itself as one of the most significant telecom event in the country over the past few years providing visitors and exhibitors with a rich forum of speakers and educational programmes. Several important topics will be discussed during the event including broadband and wireless services, policy and regulations and Internet protocol (IP) TV and content.
