KOCHI: The 17th convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will be held here on Saturday. The function organised by the Kochi regional centre of the university will be held at Papali hall on St.Albert's College campus. P.K. Abdul Azis, Vice-Chancellor, Cochin University of Science and Technology, will be the chief guest. V.Vasudevan, Regional Director, IGNOU, said that about 1,600 candidates were eligible for degrees, diplomas and certificates offered by the university. He said that about 50 information centres would be set up at select schools in Kerala to popularise the courses offered by the university. He said Gyan Vani stations would be launched in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.
