Police register case against bar owner

BANGALORE: The Sriramapuram police have registered a case against the proprietor of a bar and restaurant in Swatantrapalya here following the death of three persons who reportedly consumed liquor there on Thursday night.

The police said they had obtained samples of liquor from the bar and sent them for examination to the Forensic Science Laboratory to ascertain whether the brew was spurious.

The bodies of the three who died, Dasappa, Rajesh Kumar and Chandrashekara, were handed over to their families after autopsy.

The condition of two others who had taken ill after consuming liquor is stable. Both of them have been admitted to a private hospital on Crescent Road, the police said.

The police have registered a case of rioting against those who ransacked the bar and restaurant on Thursday night.
