Decision on Telangana in Sonia's hands, says YSR
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
"Creation of the separate State of Telangana is not in my hands.
The Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi have both left the issue to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi," Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has said.
Replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor in the Assembly on Saturday, he said Ms. Gandhi could take any decision she wished as the issue was left to her but, meanwhile, his Government would concentrate on developing the region, he said, asking political parties to join hands with him in this task.
He blamed the TDP for the regional feelings prevailing in the State now.
He criticised Mr. Chandrababu Naidu's claim on industrial investments, and said the latter's achievement was a mere Rs. 3,600 crores during 2001-2003 while his achievement touched Rs. 50,000-crore mark for the 20 months so far.
