Petrol pump employees succumb to burns

CHENNAI:
Two women employees of a petrol filling station, who were injured on Thursday following a fire, died at the Kilpauk Medical College hospital. While one of them died late on Friday night, the other girl died early on Saturday, police, said.
Police said Vennila and Amirtha of Phugs Road in R.A. Puram, sustained burn injuries on Thursday, when a fire broke out in a small room where they were eating lunch. A cable got burnt owing to a short circuit.
Break-in
Thieves broke into a house in Mugalivakkam and took away jewellery weighing 20 sovereigns on Friday.
The intruders struck at the house of V.S. Rajan, who works in a private company in Parrys Corner, when the inmates were away.
The Mangadu police have registered a case.
