Robbed of Rs. 1.3 lakhs

A chartered accountant, Y. Tirupataiah, lost Rs. 1.3 lakhs when unidentified persons took away his suitcase from the car after distracting his attention in Amberpet on Saturday. When he was passing by Vinayakanagar, two motorcycle-borne youngsters knocked on the door saying oil was leaking from the engine. Tirupataiah stopped the car and checked the engine. On reaching the office, he realised the duo had stolen his suitcase.

House burgled

Thieves broke into a house at Gaganpahad in Rajendranagar and took away 10 tolas of gold ornaments and Rs. 70,000. The house owner Ramchander and his family members went out to attend a function on Friday morning. The house was found burgled when the returned home late in the night.

Fatally run over

A bus ran over a cyclist, Mohd. Jamaluddin, 40, when he fell on the road after bumping against a car door that was left open near Nayapul bridge on Friday. The victim died on the spot. He was a resident of Karvan.

Man run over by train

A trader hailing from Maharashtra, Imamuddin, 45, who came to the city for business transactions, died on Friday after a local train hit him while he was crossing the track near Dabeerpura railway station.
