Correction
Residents with voter ID cards issued from other States or districts need not apply for new cards (and not as published in these columns on Saturday). Election officials have said such voter ID cards are valid. Residents can, however, apply for new cards if they have lost their old cards. They must contact the electoral registration officer at their respective Corporation zonal offices.
Chennai Corporation will launch issue of EPIC (Electoral Photo Identity Cards) in Royapuram, Harbour and R.K. Nagar constituencies from Monday. The exercise will be extended in a phased manner to other city Assembly constituencies next week.
