Khadi discount sale

CHENNAI: Khadi Kraft has organised a discount sale of Khadi silk sarees at its Kuralagam showroom during the weekend.

The sale that offers discount ranging from 10 to 55 per cent, will be on till Sunday evening.

Bank branch shifted

The Central Bank of India shifted its China Bazaar branch to 1-2, Devaraja Mudalai Street, opposite the Chenna Kesava Perumal temple on Wednesday.

Kellys exchange

phone lines restored

Chennai Telephones on Friday said it has restored 5,500 of the 12,000 lines that were affected in the fire accident at Kellys telephone exchange on Wednesday.

Lines under the Madhavaram RSU (2200 lines with numbers beginning in 2537) and Redhills RSU (1220 lines with numbers beginning in 2631 and 2641) have been completely restored, a Chennai Telephones release said.

In Kellys E10B, nearly 2660 lines had been restored. All efforts were being taken to restore the remaining lines within a day or two, the release added.

Kumbabhishekam

The kumbabhishekam of Sri Abeeshta Varadha Maha Ganapathy Alayam will be performed on March 31.

A trust has been formed to renovate the 55-year-old temple and install more idols. The estimated cost of the entire construction is Rs. 18 lakh. The public can send in their contributions for the same by cheque/demand draft drawn in favour of Sri Abeeshta Varadha Maha Ganapathy Trust payable in Chennai. It can be sent to No.1, Sannadhi Street, Ganapathipuram, Chromepet, Chennai - 600 044.
