Vocational training centres set up by Native Medicare Charitable Trust (NMCT) for rescued child labourers focus on their skill development and also provide package-training programmes such as gift-making and greeting card
"Last year, the children made 2000 greeting cards which were sold through an agency," says Sankaranarayanan, director of NMCT.
They also provide computer training and tailoring classes for children above 13 years of age. After completing their course, they would be given a sewing machine on loan, Mr. Sankaranarayanan said.
