`Singing Sensation' contest

Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services and SS Music are launching the Airtel `Singing Sensation' contest to identify the best talent in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
The contest, started on Friday, will go on till March 26. Singers can record their voices in Hindi, English, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam or any local language.
Contestants have to dial 1280 from an Airtel fixed-line telephone or Airtel STD booth and say `Singing Sensation.' Then say `Start' and record his or her personal details, including name, city, date of birth and contact details. Then, the system will ask the customer to sing any two songs of his or her choice. After the first song, the customer has to press 1 and sing the second song. The minimum duration of each song should be at least 45 seconds. Participants can submit any number of entries.
A winner will be selected from the top five voices every week. The judges will identify a `Singing Sensation' from the five weekly winners and he or she will get a chance to perform on SS Music. They will get 13 minutes of performance time while the remaining four winners will get eight minutes. Details can be got from www.airtel.in or on the phone by dialling 2851 9231/32.
