KURNOOL: The Andhra Pradesh Mahila Samakhya, affiliated to the CPI, has urged the Government to take steps to check vulgar depiction of women in films and TV serials. The samakhya organised a seminar on obscenity here on Sunday, which was attended by district general secretary A. Narayanamma, president Jahirabi and others. Speakers criticised the Government for its laxity on cultural issues saying that commercialisation of entertainment industry posed a serious threat to the Indian culture. They said that even TV serials should be subjected to censorship.
