NEW DELHI: Aimed at evolving directions and new perspectives in fashion, a two-day international conference, "Continuum-06" will witness the participation of representatives from high-end brands, fashion houses, retailers, academia and media begins in the Capital on Tuesday. Organised jointly by the design institute Pearl Academy of Fashion and Nottingham Trent University of Britain, the one-of-its-kind conference will deliberate on "The Challenges of Global Fashion Leadership". Continuum-06 marks the Academy's decade-old collaboration with Nottingham Trent University in curricula, course design and faculty exchanges. "The international conference is a series of events organised in Delhi to celebrate the innovativeness in design in the decade gone by and to launch the creative excitement of the decade ahead. The objective is to bring together our associates, including alumni, international partners and faculty, on a common platform and meaningfully engage our industry icons," said Pearl Academy of Fashion group director A.K.G. Nair on Friday. Highlighting India's emergence as a global fashion player, Academy's advisor-academics Vinod Shanbhag said the conference would host a panel discussion in which six speakers will dwell on the country's influences in world of fashion. There will also be a threadbare discussion on product upgradation and the need to cater to higher-end market and also the burgeoning middle class market.
