CHENNAI: Actress Namitha enlivened proceedings for special children who gathered in Chennai for a sports event. The Leo Club of Park Town conducted on Saturday Handi Park 06, the Club's annual sports meet for special children at Rajarathinam stadium. The event attracted dozens of children from over 40 schools for special children in and around Chennai. They participated in events that included several races held among various categories, according to the special needs and level of disability, said the Club President, Prashant Bethala.
Prizes given
"Our volunteers worked for bringing in the children to the stadium from various points in the city, and the club took care of their transportation, food and snacks. The first three winners of the events were given prizes. All the participants got consolation prizes and participation certificates," he added. The past Lions governor of district 324 A1, M.S. Raghavan, and the vice chairman of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Walter Devaram, were among the guests who watched the events. The actress came around noon and spent time cheering and chattering with the children and club volunteers.
