CHENNAI: The Association of University Teachers urged the Government to restore some of the benefits and privileges regarding pension extended to the employees on the verge of retirement.

Fast organised

The AUT members participated in a fast organised by the JACTTEO-GEO at district headquarters on Sunday to highlight the need to restore benefits regarding the qualifying period for grant of full pension as 30 years, the fixation of pension based on the last pay drawn and commutation of pension at 40 per cent.

The members, in a release, urged the authorities to invite the JACTTEO-GEO representatives for talks to resolve the issue.
