Power shutdown

Power will not be available between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the following areas owing to a shutdown at Madukkarai substation on Tuesday. K.G. Chavady, Palathurai, Athupalam, Bypass Road, part of Othakalmandapam, Madukkarai, Kovaipudur, Malumichampatti, Sundarapuram and Kuniamuthur.

Workshop

Training programme

Sugarcane Breeding Institute will conduct a national training programme on DUS Testing from February21 to 24. DUS testing of a new crop variety has been made mandatory under the Protection of Plant Variety and Farmers' Right Act 2001. The training would help participants familiarise with the provisions of the Act, a release said.

The official newsletter of the Coimbatore Management Association was released at a function. G.Lakshmipathy, Consultant Physician, released it and the first copy was received by N.Sundaravadivelu, president, Coimbatore Bar Association.
