NBWs execution tardy: EC

New Delhi:
The Election Commission on Monday pulled up Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, West Bengal and Union Territory of Pondicherry for tardy progress in the execution of non-bailable warrants (NBWs) pending against criminals and others.
The Commission held a meeting with the Chief Secretaries, the Directors-General of Police and senior officials of these States, which are going to Assembly polls in April or May.
Poll preparedness
The Full Commission, under the chairmanship of B.B. Tandon, Chief Election Commissioner, with N. Gopalaswami and Navin B. Chawla, Election Commissioners, held separate meetings with the senior officers and reviewed poll preparedness.
