New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday restrained the Karnataka Government and the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences from proceeding with counselling for admission to postgraduate medical, dental and diploma courses in unaided self-financing colleges. A Bench of Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and Justice P.P. Naoleklar passed the order and directed that notice be issued on an application filed by Karnataka Private Medical Colleges' Association seeking permission to announce the results of the Common Entrance Test conducted by it on January 29. On January 27, the Bench granted permission to the association to conduct the test but made it clear that the results should not be published for the time being. In its application, the association said the test was conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
