Accused in SSLC paper leak summoned

Kochi: As part of the ongoing investigation of the SSLC question paper leak last year, the team from Central Bureau of Investigation summoned the accused to its office on Monday. Bindu, the first accused and her husband Vijayan were summoned for further questioning, a senior CBI official told The Hindu . - Staff Reporter

Passports issued

Kochi: The Regional Passport Office here has processed and issued passports for applications received till February 16, where police verification has been completed. The passports were despatched last week, said a statement issued by the Regional Passport Officer. - Staff Reporter

KEOF demand

Kochi: The Kerala Electricity Officers' Federation (KEOF) has demanded a review of the captive power policy of the Government. A resolution passed at the State conference of the federation held here recently, pointed out that out of the 90-odd mini projects granted to the private sector, only four have been commissioned so far. The rate of the electricity generated in these projects is also very high, the Federation representatives said. The regulatory commission has also said that it will not be able to buy power at such a high rate. - Staff Reporter

FRIENDS counter

Kochi: The water charges of the customers coming under the Kerala Water Authority's Tripunithura Sub-Division can be paid at the FRIENDS counter at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor. This facility has been in place from February 15 onwards. The counter functions on all Government holidays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is a single window for paying the electricity charges, water charges, telephone bills, vehicle tax, M.G. University fees and other taxes for those in Kochi Corporation area. - Staff Reporter

Seminar on TB

Kochi: As part of the National Tuberculosis Control Programme, a one-day seminar and awareness class was held at Palluruthy Government Hospital here on Monday. The programme, organised by District TB Association and the District TB Centre, was inaugurated by Corporation councillor P.S. Viju. - Staff Reporter

Panel adalat

Kochi: The State Women's Commission will organise an adalat at Koothattukulam on March 3. The adalat will be held at Panchayat conference hall at 10.30 a.m. - Staff Reporter
