Aravindan award for Albert

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Albert has bagged the Aravindan Puraskaram for the best debutant filmmaker for the year 2005 for his film `Kanne Madanguka.' The award, instituted by the Chalachitra Film Society, was announced at press conference here on Tuesday. According to G. Rajmohan, president, the film was selected by the jury for "its closeness to the contemporary realities of the lower strata of society. The treatment of the film is subtle and direct.
The Pursakaram has been bestowed upon the director for the deft handling of the medium," he said. Te four-member jury was chaired by filmmaker K.R. Mohan. T. Krishnan Unni, M.R. Rajan and K.S. Rana Prathapan were the other jury members.
