Kochi
It was a marriage reception that could have changed the political milieu of the State. On Sunday, the marriage reception of K.V. Thomas, MLA's son was expected to pave the way for the re-alignment of forces in the State unit of the Congress as almost all the party leaders and the leaders of DIC(K) were expected to hold a discussion in Kochi after the function. The line up of invitees included senior Congress leaders Veerappa Moliy, A.K. Antony, Vayalar Ravi, and K. Karunakaran's children K. Muralidharan and Padmaja Venugopal. But A.K. Antony, who was in New Delhi, developed high fever forcing him to cancel the trip. Mr. Moily also could not make it to Kochi thus ending the hope of holding the first round of discussion between the Congress and the DIC(K) leaders. But the party leaders are hopeful of beginning the talks soon to explore new possibilities in the Congress politics.
