Students told to eschew lure of foreign employment

MYSORE: The outgoing batch of Indian School Certificate (ISC) and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) students from Mysore Public School were told to overcome the lure of foreign employment and instead focus on pursuing jobs in India.

Zeb Wateruchua, a consultant from Nigeria, drew the attention of the outgoing batch of students from Mysore Public School to the emergence of India as a "hot destination" for not only challenging jobs but also higher studies.

He was presiding over the graduation ceremony and farewell party for the 17 outgoing students of ISC (X Std) and 37 outgoing students of ICSE (XII Std) of Mysore Public School here recently.

Dr. Wateruchua, who has a higher education degree from University of Mysore, told the students to posses good "ASK" (Attitude, Skills and Knowledge) to face the challenges of the world. If students possessing "ASK" strove to develop India, the day is not far off when people from the West will come seeking jobs in the country, he added.

"Actually, the process has started with a large number of people from the U.S. and other countries coming to India to work in information technology companies", he said.

The graduation ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp that signifies "spreading the light of knowledge".

Principal of Mysore Public School M. Ramachandran, president of A.R. Educational Trust, which runs the school, Abdul Salam, and other representatives from the school management and faculty were present.
