Firm to prepare NGEF revival plan

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The State Government has appointed a consultancy firm to prepare a revival package for the Government-owned New Government Electric Factory (NGEF), the Karnataka High Court was told on Monday.

In an application filed in the court, the Government said Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (India) Private Limited has been asked to prepare the package. It sought the court's approval to give time to the firm to study records pertaining to the NGEF which are in the custody of the official liquidator.

Justice Ram Mohan Reddy, who heard the plea, asked the Government to provide details of the records that the firm wanted to study before preparing the revival scheme. The judge adjourned further hearing on the matter and asked the Government to give the court details of the representatives of the firm who will be deputed to go through the records. The High Court has directed the Government to submit the revival package before March 16.
