New Delhi
For Delhiites rummaging for apparel and accessories that exude both style and elegance, there is something to cheer about. Christian Dior, the brand synonymous with exquisite dresses and chic accessories across the world, has now opened its boutique at the Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi on Zakir Husain Marg. "Earlier, customers had to travel to Dubai, London and Paris to buy stuff from Christian Dior's boutiques. So we thought the time was right to set the stage to satisfy our customers. At our first Indian boutique we are selling our latest collections and accessories. Ready-to-wear costume, jewellery and watches all are available. Our stuff is manufactured in European countries," says Christian Dior Managing Director (Asia) Pierre Dennis. The leather collection has been manufactured in France, Italy and Spain. Dresses have been designed in kaleidoscopic pastel colours that jell with traditional Indian tastes. On the price difference between dresses sold in Delhi and the Middle East, Mr. Dennis is evasive but he admits that the products on offer in India are more expensive than those being sold in Paris.
