Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Ravi Naik said a convention will be held in the city on Wednesday, which will be attended by over 5,000 party workers and addressed by Ms. Gandhi. Two children die as hut catches fire
The police identified the dead children as Salu Imamsab, 6, and his cousin Parveen Husseinsab Mujawar, 5. They were alone at home when the hut caught fire. Two cows, two oxen and two goats also perished in the fire. Staff Correspondent

Cabinet berth sought for D.S. Veeraiah
N. Murthy, President, Karnataka Dalit Sangharsh Samithi, told presspersons here on Tuesday that the recently constituted Cabinet has no representative from the right hand section of the Scheduled Castes. The federation urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to give D.S. Veeraiah, who belongs to the right hand section of the Scheduled Castes, a ministerial berth. Staff Reporter
