Denigration of gods condemned

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha members on Tuesday condemned the denigration of gods by acts such as publication of Prophet Muhammed's caricatures in a Danish daily and some other European newspapers and depiction of Hindu gods on tissue paper in Germany.

Ram Gopal Yadav (Samajwadi Party) raised the issue after Question Hour.

Home Minister Shivraj Patil pointed out that the Government had communicated its outrage at Prophet Muhammed's caricatures to the Danish Government in October itself. Congress president Sonia Gandhi had written to the Shahi Imam of Delhi in this regard.
