Keep pace with the time today by preparing oneself for a bright tomorrow. You cannot prepare a future for yourself, so prepare yourself for the future. The Collector S. Murugaia gave this piece of advice to students during the annual day celebrations of Bhavan's Gandhi Vidyashram held in Kodaikanal recently. In his special address, he insisted on proper health care and urged students to cultivate calmness. He also quoted a few couplets from Tirukkural emphasising `talk less listen more' concept that would help students expand their horizons of knowledge. The school chairman, P.R. Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha, in his welcome address recalled the initiatives taken by the school in the field of education and expressed the hope that students would try to fulfil the ideals cherished by educationists and architects of the Bhavan.
Gold medal
He announced that a gold medal, in the name of his late father Mr. Ramasamy Rajha, would be presented to the best all-rounder of the school every year. Later, Mr. Murugaia released `Bavana-2006', the school magazine, and also the strategic planning document of the school. The Chairman received it in the presence of Governing Council member S. Annnamalai. Meritorious students were honoured with prizes and certificates for their excellent academic performance. Students performed cultural programmes and demonstrated various postures of Yogasana.
