44 houses ready for tsunami victims

CHENNAI:
Forty-four terraced houses at Olaikottaimediu, in Sirkazhi taluk near Chidambaram, constructed by the Vadodara- based Shree Vallabh Foundation Trust as part of its Rs.1.30-crore tsunami rehabilitation project, will be handed over to the Government on Friday, the birthday of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Trust president Indirabetji Mahodaya told presspersons that each 300 square feet house, constructed on 1,350 square feet area, has been furnished with a cot, a cupboard, essential utensils, furniture and fixtures. A park, a computer training centre with four computers, a community hall and a building for primary school have also been constructed.
