CARLSBAD (U.S.): Annika Sorenstam was officially designated as the best female golfer on Tuesday, topping the debut of Women's World golf ranking based on her 21 victories worldwide and three major championships over the last two years. The Swede led No. 2 Paula Creamer by nearly twice the American's point total, while Michelle Wie was third. The 16-year-old from Hawaii, who turned pro in October, could move ahead of Creamer depending on what happens in the Fields Open in Hawaii this week on the U.S. LPGA Tour. The women's ranking is used as criteria for getting into tournaments such as the U.S. LPGA championship AP
