VISAKHAPATNAM : Dr. L. Bullayya College regained the overall championship of Andhra University inter-college inter-zone games meet after a gap of one year.

Dr. L.B. College which lost the title to GITAM College of Engineering last year after an uninterrupted run of nine years, was back on top with 25 points in the meet held at Sri Y.N. College, Narsapur a few days ago.

It won the cricket, handball, hockey and football events held here early this month and finished runner-up in basketball and third in kabaddi tournaments conducted at Narsapur.

GITAM College of Engineering with 14 points, managed to take the runner-up spot ahead of S.V.K.P. and Dr. K.S. Raju College of Arts and Science, Penugonda (13).

The results: Badminton: 1. SVKP and Dr. KS Raju College of A and S, Penugonda, 2. GITAM College of Engineering, 3. AMAL College, Anakapalle.

Ball badminton: 1. Dr. V.S. Krishna Govt. College, 2. AMAL College, 3. GBR Degree College, Anaparthi.

Basketball: 1. SVKP and Dr. KS Raju CAS, 2. Dr. L.B. College, 3. SKBR Degree College, Amalapuram.

Chess: 1. GITAM College of Engineering, 2. GBR Degree College, 3. SVKP and Dr. K.S. Raju CAS.

Kabaddi: 1. AKC Degree College, Rajahmundry, 2. CSTS Govt. Kalasala, Jangareddygudem, 3. Dr. L.B. College.

Table tennis: 1. SKVT College, Rajahmundry, 2. SVKP and Dr. K.S. Raju CAS, 3. GITAM College of Engineering.
