Pondicherry: The Mahe-based Action Council on Tuesday urged Lieutenant Governor M.M. Lakhera and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy to order a probe by the CBI into the alleged suicide of PWD executive engineer K.K. Santhosh Kumar on January 28. He was found hanging in a private guesthouse in Pondicherry. The Chairman of the Council, P. Valsan told newsmen here that a memorandum had been submitted to Chief Minister and Lt Governor in this regard. They said Santhosh Kumar, who was working in Mahe region as Executive Engineer, came to Pondicherry on January 23 to attend a meeting to finalise tender for the Mahe fishing harbour project. They alleged that the official was pressured to justify and recommend the tender for acceptance.
