CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Department of Renewable Energy proposes to constitute Renewable Energy Clubs in all the 39 Engineering Colleges in the State, the Deputy Chief Minister, Chander Mohan, said here on Tuesday. He said that these clubs will organise seminars, workshops, lectures, quiz competitions, slogan competitions, poster and essay competitions on renewable energy, on Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas on August 20 and International Sun Day on May 1 every year. Token cash prizes would be given to the winning students. These clubs would also organise field visit of students to the nearby New and Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE) installations, project sites and Energy Parks for live demonstration of these system and devices. And to expedite the process of implementation of renewable energy programme in the districts, the Government had constituted District Advisory Committees (DAC) in all the districts under the chairmanship of respective Deputy Commissioners. These committees will identify the project sites and implementation of renewable energy programmes, setting up of Aditya Solar Shops and their functioning and suggesting ways and means for utilizing MPLAD, MLALAD funds for renewable energy in the districts.
