Train traffic restored

HYDERABAD: The Visakhapatnam-Bangalore-Visakhapatnam Prasanti Express (No.8563/8564) and Vijayawada-Hubli-Vijayawada Amaravati Express (No.7225/7226) are running on normal routes via Guntur, Dhone and Guntakal following restoration of traffic on the Nandyal- Giddalur section. The traffic was suspended on Sunday after landmines were found on the tracks.

A press release issued by the South Central Railway said on Tuesday that eight passenger trains between Guntur and Dhone, Hubli, Secunderabad and Yeswantpur were fully restored. The Nandyal-Guntur Passenger (No.427-A) will run back as 428 and Guntur-Dhone Passenger (No.433) will run through to Hubli to run back as 304 Hubli-Guntur Passenger.
