KANNUR: A local office of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) at Pappinissery here was vandalised by suspected Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers on Tuesday following clashes between IUML and CPI(M) workers. The police said that the IUML office was attacked at around 7 p.m. as a sequel to the incidents that started in the morning following the manhandling of an IUML worker, Sageer, by suspected Students Federation of India (SFI) activists at Pappinissery. The police said that a group of IUML workers from Pappinissery assaulted some SFI workers near the AKG Hospital here in the afternoon. The police said that the attack on the IUML office was in retaliation for the incident near the AKG Hospital.
