Appointed member of Central Silk Board

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Chairman, Serifed, Victor T. Thomas has been appointed as member of the Central Silk Board. This was announced by N. Gopala Paniker, director, Serifed, at a press conference here on Tuesday.

According to him, this is the first occasion when a Malayali has been appointed as a member of the Central Silk Board.

The State has managed to achieve enviable progress in seri culture industry under his leadership, despite the sector not being a part of some of the traditional industries of the State, he said. The tenure of appointment is for a period of three years.
