BSNL to offer new package from March 1

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The BSNL is launching on March 1 a new package, `One India' plan which will enable the customers of BSNL to call to any place in India at any time at a cost of Re. 1 per minute. The customers of Bfone, Tarang, CellOne and Excel services can migrate to the `One India' plan of the respective services by giving a written request at the nearest customer service centre. They also have the option to register the requests online at the website www.bsnl.co.in

Under the scheme, the basic phone (including WLL) customers will have to pay a monthly fixed charge of Rs. 299. Local and intra circle calls up to 50 km are chargeable at the rate of Rs. 1 for three minutes. Anywhere anytime and any network STD (intra and inter circle) will be charged at the rate of Re.1 per minute.

The package is applicable for both rural and urban customers and is not applicable for STD/ISD PCO franchisees.

The monthly rental of this scheme is Rs. 299. The call charges are 40 paise per minute for the calls to BSNL mobile phones/landlines within Kerala circle. The calls to other networks within the circle are charged at the rate of Re.1 per minute irrespective of the distance. Traffic while roaming will be as per the existing Plan 525.

Subscribers can also register by sending SMS "ONEINDIA" to 3733 from their mobile. A response message "Request for ONEINDIA has been registered" and will be received on registering through SMS. A new recharge coupon of denomination of Rs. 799 (sale value Rs. 880) can be used by the existing and new customers for availing of this plan.

Call charges are 60 paise per minute for calls to BSNL mobile/landlines within the circle.
