Pension for traders: Shaktan promises action

Thiruvananthapuram:
Minister for Transport N. Shaktan has said that he would take up with the Government whether the traders can be paid pension from the welfare fund set up for them.
Speaking after inaugurating the district conference of the Kerala Vyapari Vyvasayi Ekopana Samiti in the capital on Wednesday, the Minister pointed out that the United Democratic Front (UDF) Government was sympathetic to the traders during the last five years.
District president Peringamala Ramachandran presided over the function. State president T. Nazarudeen delivered the keynote address.
TRIDA chairman P.K. Venugopal and samiti's general secretary Y. Vijayan were among those who attended the function. Earlier, the traders took out a march from the Palayam Square.
