Plea to change city's name

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Members of the Central Kannada Action Committee, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, have urged the Government to change the name of Bangalore to "Kempe Gowda Mahanagar".

"Naming the city after its architect Kempe Gowda will be a fitting tribute to him. We urge Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to change the name of our city. If the name is not changed within a month, we will launch a protest," said N. Neelakanta, adviser of the committee.
