Row over sharing installation cost of electric pole leads to murder
|
HYDERABAD:
A row over sharing the cost of installing an electric pole resulted in the killing of a history-sheeter Mohd. Afsar, 38, in Begumpet late Monday night.
Afsar reportedly had a tiff with his neighbour Ghouse, a mason, when the latter suggested that all residents should equally bear the cost of erecting an electric pole in their street at Indirammanagar of Rasoolpura. Afsar allegedly assaulted Ghouse after the two entered into an argument over the matter on Sunday.
Late on Monday night, Afsar went to the house of Ali and Akbar in a drunken condition and hurled a boulder on the doors following which Gouse and his brother beat him with hockey sticks and smashed his head with a boulder. The history-sheeter died on the spot. A hunt is on for the two siblings
