HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has issued directions for a committee to be formed to have a re-look at the existing master plan development proposals of the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and Hyderabad Airport Development Authority (HADA).
Review meeting
This is for the effective integration of the Shamshabad area with amenities of international standards. Speaking at a review meeting held here on Tuesday, Dr. Reddy said the committee, to be headed by IT Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy, should involve officials from the Departments of Industries, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), IT and Revenue. The committee would aim at developing the area holistically to enable the Information and Communication Technology industry have a "plug and play" and "walk to work" kind of environment by way of a satellite IT/ITES/Hardware integrated township/cluster development in a planned manner on the lines of institutional areas developed with international standards. The Chief Minister further said the committee's studies would be analysed by him before taking a final view and concretising the implementation plans. Information Technology and Communications Secretary K. Ratna Prabha earlier pointed out to Dr. Reddy that the area, comprising the Hardware Park, the International airport, FAB City and IT SEZ covering Mamidipalli, Raviryal, Adibhotla, Maheshwaram and Tukkugudda areas required integrated planning and development to attract software and hardware units to locate their industries. The immediate requirements, Ms. Ratna Prabha pointed out, would be a four-lane road from Chandrayangutta junction to the Hardware Park and further to Tukkugudda with radial roads linked to the outer ring road, MMTS services that are extended from Falaknuma to Maheshwaram, uninterrupted and quality power supply to the IT units, FAB City, Rajiv Nano Technology Park and also ample water supply. Senior officials from the various department the Ranga Reddy Collector were among those present.
