Driver held with
stolen money
According to the police, the accused Sanjay Chauhan was arrested when he was trying to flee along with the money, kept in a handbag, in his employer's car in Aadishwar Apartments Complex on Ferozeshah Road in New Delhi on Monday. The police said Prabha Rani, an airhostess living in flat No. 304 of Aadishwar Apartments, had complained about some doors, which belonged to her house, lying in the neighbouring flat that usually remained vacant as the owner lived in the United States. On Monday, the caretaker of flat No. 306, Randhir Singh Chaudhary, came there. Prabha brought the problem to his notice. Mr. Chaudhary agreed to open the flat to check out if the doors lying in the flat indeed belonged to the airhostess. He gave the keys of the car to Prabha's driver, Sanjay, to bring the keys for the flat. Mr. Chaudhary was about to leave after sorting out the problem with Prabha when he realised that a handbag, in which Rs. 6 lakhs were kept, was missing from his car. The security guard told him that he saw Sanjay taking out a handbag. Constable Satish Malik, who had been present all along, managed to nab Sanjay before he could escape. The handbag was also recovered from rear seat of Prabha's car in which he tried to flee.
