KOLKATA: Xenitis Group, owners of the Amar PC brand, will begin to roll out by mid-April, motorbikes made with technical collaboration with the state-run Guangzhou Motor Company of China.

While initially semi-knocked down versions of motorbikes in the range of 100-150 cc would be assembled at Xenitis' factory at Chinsurah in Hooghly district, the production facilities would shift to the factory of Global Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. closeby, once the first phase of construction activities got completed by June 30, Santanu Ghosh, Chairman, Xenitis Group, said.

He said the agreement between Xenitis and Global Automobiles (which will lead the foray into motorbikes) was signed in November 2005.

The Rs. 300 crore project cost with a debt:equity ratio of 1:2, will be met through a mix of internal accruals and bank finance, Mr. Ghosh said.

The project planning was done by KPMG.
