NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will make a suo motu statement on the India-United States nuclear deal in both Houses of Parliament on February 27. However, it is not yet clear whether there will be any clarification on his statement in the Rajya Sabha the same day. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi, talking to reporters here on Wednesday, seemed to suggest that it would depend on the time available, given the other pressing agenda during the Budget session. "It may be instant coffee or it may be filter coffee," he said, suggesting that clarifications could be taken up immediately after Dr. Singh's statement in the Upper House or during the time allotted later. With the debate on the motion of thanks to the President having overshot the allotted time, the Prime Minister's reply in the Lok Sabha has been postponed to Thursday. It will come immediately after Leader of the Opposition L.K. Advani winds up the debate at noon. It seems there will be no zero hour, no time for special mentions and even no lunch recess on Thursday.
