This Day That Age
An inflatable rubber airplane that can fit in the trunk of a motor car has been flown for the first time at the Goodyear Aircraft Corporation's Akron (Ohio) plant, it was reported in New York. The single-seat plane can be set up with no more pressure than that required to set up a car tyre. Power is provided by a 40 hp engine mounted on a tubular metal support behind the wing. The only other metal parts are those connecting the wheels and the pilot's seat to the fuselage. The rubber airplane could well be the answer to quicker movement of infantry.
